We provide data, statistics, and support to transportation engineers using innovative approaches and industry leading technology. We are looking for a dependable part-time Field Technician to service the Portland area, as well as handling field work across Oregon/Washington and the surrounding region. Our office is based out of Tigard.

The ideal candidate would be able to commit to a flexible part-time work schedule with availability to work on short notice. It's important to have reliable transportation to and from work, along with a clean driving record. All field work is conducted using a company vehicle. Depending on workload and skills, field technicians could be eligible to travel to assist our nation-wide operations. Generally, travel is limited to a couple overnight stays per month but trips can encompass a week at a time depending on the project and location.

As a field technician you would be responsible for setting up various types of survey equipment designed to count vehicles and collect traffic data. The work is labor intensive and involves hammering nails into asphalt to install traffic counters while working on an active roadway. The work also involves climbing ladders and hanging equipment from a height that ranges from 15-20 ft. Compensation as a Field Technician starts at $17.00 an hour with opportunity for increase as skills are developed and quality performance is maintained. This position is considered part time and can range from 10-30 hours per week.

General Description:

Ø Given direct instructions for weekly schedule of data collection field work 
Ø Installs, tests, and retrieves related equipment

Daily responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Ø Organize equipment needed for daily assignments
Ø Installs, tests, and retrieves related equipment
Ø Equipment maintenance
Ø Drive for long distances
Ø Data entry and review 
Ø Adhere to safety guidelines


Ø High school degree strongly preferred
Ø Clean and safe driving record
Ø Flexible schedule
Ø Available to travel out of town for overnight projects
Ø Ability to pass drug screens
